Money, Investing & Retirement

The Total Money Makeover (Dave Ramsey)
Are you living paycheck to paycheck, underwater on your loans, or overwhelmed by student and/or credit card debt?  If so, then this is the book to get started on the path to financial freedom.  Dave Ramsey lays out the plan to help you gain your freedom, using the 7 Baby Steps and a big ol’ pair of scissors.  You’ll learn the basics of budgeting and cash flow planning as well as great information on everything from real estate to insurance to investing.

Retire Inspired (Chris Hogan)
Chris Hogan picks up where Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, Financial Peace University and Legacy Journey leave off. Continuing in the familiar voice of the Lampo Group brand, Hogan delves a little deeper in to the misconceptions surrounding retirement and the best ways to prepare for it. Consider this a primer on retirement and retirement savings that will help anyone become better prepared.

Smart Money, Smart Kids (Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze)
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Ramsey family. Dave Ramsey is joined by his daughter Rachel Cruze to deliver wisdom on how to manage money within the chaos of a growing family and teaching your children important money lessons they will benefit from in the future. The shared perspective from a new mother and her more experienced father is both humorous and educational.

Money: Master the Game (Tony Robbins)

I consider this to be the book that picks up on investing where Dave Ramsey leaves off. Where Ramsey is focused on getting people to change behavior to get out of debt and save money, Robbins tackles the behavior changes necessary to make the right investment decisions once you have the funds to invest, and lays out a solid foundation for not only choosing the right investment allocation, but how to choose the right fiduciary to assist you.

Unshakeable (Tony Robbins)

Tony Robbins follows up his best selling Money: Master the Game book with another great resource on the investing strategies of the top investors in the world. Included in one of the later chapters are excerpts of one-on-one interviews Robbins had with several of these financial giants, giving us a sneak peak into the mind and hearts of the worlds wealthiest investors. Their secret? Allocation, protect the downside, think long term, and don’t lose money.
